Last week we found out that Mayra is coming to Kansas City! Who is Mayra, you ask? Mayra and her family started Kairos Christian School, where the Gateway mission team will be serving on the trip in October. A generous individual paid for Mayra to come to the area to speak at another local church who is also partnering with the school. We are excited that Mayra will be able to meet our mission team as well!
We have quickly put together a fundraiser dinner to benefit the school. The dinner is Saturday, August 29th at 6:00 at El Cipote restaurant (6841 Longview Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64134). Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children ten and under. Tickets can be purchased from the Armstrong's, Whitworth's or Harris' between now and August 22nd. It will be a yummy Guatemalan meal and a fun evening!
